2020 A New Year!
I'll admit, I'm an amateur at blogging and writing anything beyond a reminder on a post-it note or my grocery list. And that grocery list winds up in my head instead of a piece of paper or my phone's memo app. But, I want to start a history of my family, that I have had the honor to meet posthumous, to tell their stories as I find them throughout my online travels. No time like the beginning of a new year to start, right?
At best, you'll be interested in my journey out on the branches of my family tree. And the journey may be more interesting than the leaves in some cases. At worst, you'll wish me luck with my research and move on. Either way, my goals are to secure this history in words as a gift for my family and to learn to write a story, this story.
I want to share what I know is true, what I find is probable, and what I have to prove from the wealth of information floating all around the world-wide web. I pour over other blog posts and listen daily to podcasts with a healthy serving of genealogy in them to learn to be the best amateur "genie" I can. I know there is way more information not online, but for now, my plan is to work from home until I hit the brick wall that's bound to be there.
