About Me

I was born Kristine Ann Goodman and live in Berks County, Pennsylvania my entire life. I have two children and 5 grandchildren. My husband of 7 years and I enjoy retirement together bowling in a league year around and playing PS4 video games, especially with the grandchildren (yes, I am a gaming grandma). Separately, we both have projects that retirement allows us time to pursue. Guess what mine is?

My career interests were in office and property management until my retirement in 2019. I've been a geek since 1978 when the video game "Pong" was played on a TV. In 1988 I  built my own PC, when DOS was the only operating system available and hard drives were measured in megabytes. I love artistic creativity in vivid colors on any medium, autobiographies, period non-fiction, and Italian food.

Research and data management comes natural to me as I look back on all the things I involved myself in since I was in grade school. It's especially useful and enjoyable to apply these strength to my family tree history project.  Currently, I have my family tree history on Ancestry.com and use Family Tree Maker 2019 software program as a local copy on my PC that syncs with Ancestry, so my tree is always up to date.

My paternal family surnames are Goodman, Hulet, Jamitis, and Ambrosavage; maternal surnames are Schuettler, Dimmerling, Zimmerman and Cullen. My DNA summary from Ancestry.com is below. I also have A DNA profile on 23 and Me.

Family tree history is how I want to think of my project data, not just a family tree. I believe if I was required to learn the world's histories in school for most of those years, I should certainly learn my own!

We all make up this world's histories. Let's put a value on it and learn about ourselves.  When I use WE and OUR in my posts, it is to include YOU the reader or refer to another person involved with me on the subject I'm discussing. And, like I said in "The Journey", I'm an amateur writer. Editing your own work has its downfalls.
